About Us

Eric is the President of Axxel Group. He is passionate about building the foundation for growth and success and his strategic thinking and project management has allowed for a strong track record of successful accomplishments.

Since taking the role of President in 2010, he has led a team of over 30 employees while prioritizing people, culture, and business growth.

Eric Haggar holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Management degree from Columbia University. Before taking over his family business in 2010, Eric held a position at Bell Canada for 10 years as Director of Real Estate, managing a team of over 300 employees across Canada.

On a personal note, Eric is active in many associations, is an all-season sports enthusiast, as both a coach and a player, and is also passionate about boating.

Jean-Michel is a problem solver who combines an emphatic approach with pragmatic solutions. He thrives in helping business leaders put together the best strategy for themselves and for their businesses; mapping their roadmap to success for each step of the business cycle and negotiating transactions on their behalf.

Prior to joining the Axxel team, Jean-Michel progressed at a rapid pace in the banking industry which lead him to becoming the leader of a commercial business sector for a Canadian bank where his team managed a portfolio of over $4 Billion of authorized credits. His teams were responsible for business development, underwriting and administrative duties covering diverse sectors such as commercial financing, leasing, P3 Energy and Infrastructure financing.

Since joining Axxel in 2014, his contribution has led to building a powerhouse boutique M&A firm that has completed transactions across North America in a multitude of industries.  He graduated from HEC Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Financial Management Services.

Nizar Loukil has over 15 years of banking experience. He held several corporate lending director positions including bank syndication.

Mr. Loukil also managed a team of account managers with an asset size under management of  around $2 billion. Since 2020, he holds the position of Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions Director where he actively participated in the closing of around ten transactions during his tenure. Mr. Loukil also has more than 20 years experience as a lecturer at HEC Montréal where he teaches corporate finance and market finance.

Ahcene is a highly ambitious professional with a passion for finance and business development. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the John-Molson School of Business at Concordia University, where he graduated in 2018.

A go-getter, Ahcene excels in developing and managing business relationships, as demonstrated in his role as a Commercial Banking Manager at the National Bank of Canada.

His skills in M&A were honed as an M&A Associate at Axxel, where he played a key role in executing transactions and providing strategic insights. Currently serving as M&A Director at Axxel, Ahcene has become a valuable asset to the company with his contribution to the firm's successful M&A transactions across various industries.
